This spring, we’re stepping into the season with London-based footwear designer Age of Innocence and its comfy collection for kids. “Little feet will love the brand’s signature bar shoes,” says Childrensalon’s buying manager, Anca Ungureanu. “They come complete with softly padded leather insoles and a sturdy non-slip outer sole for added grip.” Neutral colourways go perfectly with jeans and dresses, whilst unique fabrics, like sherpa fleece, will add the fun factor to whatever they wear. If their shoe cupboard is looking light in the boot department, this patent black pair ticks a lot of boxes. “They’re easy to slip on and easy to style too, great for those in-between days when the forecast is still a bit chilly.”

What sets Age of Innocence apart is the craft that goes into each pair. “Every style is handmade with the utmost care and finished to the highest standards,” explains Anca. “Childrensalon was founded on the idea that beautiful childrenswear is made with love — naturally, that’s what drew us to Age of Innocence."

Occasion season is one of our favourites. The picture-perfect venues, the party favours and, of course, the opportunity for children to get dressed up in their finery. And there’s nothing finer than a mini-me look from new designer Needle & Thread. In fact, it was the perfectly placed flowers and intricate ruffles that caught the eye of the Childrensalon buying team. “We were so captivated by the attention to detail on each piece,” says senior buyer, Jo Welch. “The delicate embroidery is simply stunning, and the way the embellishments twinkle in the light; it’s like having your own little disco ball.” You’ll also be pleased to know these dresses are dance-floor certified. “The recycled tulle fabric is voluminous but still lightweight, meaning they’ll be able to twirl away to their heart’s content.”
