Cervinia, located in the north-west of Italy, is a fantastic place to take kids skiing. With slopes to suit all abilities, plenty of entertainment for younger kids in the play park at Cretaz, and sledding runs for the whole family to enjoy, there really is something for everyone.

Now, a trip to the Italian mountains wouldn't be complete without a delicious pizza to fuel them after a stint on the slopes. Nestled amongst Cervinia's snow-capped peaks, it comes highly recommended, and you can even enjoy a spin on the ice rink next door before your pepperoni-with-extra-cheese arrives. Norway's largest ski resort, Trysil, is super popular with families who love this 69-slope destination that boasts 31 lifts and blissfully short queues. There is a large family area where the local mascot, a huge fluffy snowman called Valle, keeps everyone smiling along with plenty of other après-ski activities to entertain kids of all ages.

Be sure to wrap up warm, as this activity will take them right into the elements.
